JAZZ STATION BIG BAND

Station” that warmly opened its doors the first Thursday of each month, a new, young, enthousiastic and innovative big band was born in October 2006.

The original idea was to give the opportunity to the quartet members and their joining friends to start writing and arranging for a larger ensemble (a bit inspired by Dave Holland’s quintet that became a big band as well), in the spirit of some of the New-York jazz clubs like the Village Vanguard, and keep a monthly performance that would help  the orchestra to evolve.

In addition, the JSBB already played some festivals such as FleurusInJazz 2007, StJazzTenNoode2007 and NamInJazz2008...

The repertoire is mainly composed of Michel Paré’s originals but is growing since the other band members take the pen as well !...Jewels from Charles Mingus, Wayne Shorter and other essentials are played with equal pleasure.
